Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited, branded Maha Metro, now operates the <strong>PCMC to Swargate<\/strong> Purple corridor and <strong>Vanaz to Ramwadi<\/strong> Aqua corridor, as shown in its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.punemetrorail.org\/project-profile?lang=en-US\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">current project profile<\/a>. The Civil Court to Swargate section opened on September 29, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The Purple Line is <strong>17.5 km long<\/strong> with 14 listed stations, 13 of them open to passengers. Its 6.1 km underground portion includes Shivajinagar, Civil Court, Kasba Peth, Mahatma Phule Mandai and Swargate.<\/p>\n<p>The Aqua Line is a <strong>15.8 km fully elevated corridor<\/strong> with 16 open stations. The two operating lines meet at Civil Court, where stairs, escalators and elevators connect the underground Purple platforms with the elevated Aqua platforms.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]The Purple and Aqua line lists contain <strong>30 station entries, 29 of which are open<\/strong>. Line 3 is excluded from this Maha Metro total.<\/p>\n<p>Civil Court appears in both lists as the interchange, so 30 entries do not mean 30 distinct stations. Four checks keep trip planning clear:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Follow Purple between PCMC and Swargate or Aqua between Vanaz and Ramwadi for current Maha Metro journeys.<\/li>\n<li>Use the terminus shown on the train and platform to set the correct direction.<\/li>\n<li>Change between Purple and Aqua at <strong>Civil Court<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Use the status table before treating an extension or Line 3 as part of a passenger journey.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><span id=\"pune-metro-line-3-pmrda-ownership-targets-and-interchange\">Pune Metro Line 3: PMRDA ownership, targets and interchange<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Line 3 is a <strong>separate public-private partnership led by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA)<\/strong>. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pmrda.gov.in\/en\/pune-metro-line-3\/maan-hinjawadi-shivajinagar-metro-line\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PMRDA project record<\/a> names Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited (PITCMRL), which holds the 35-year DBFOT concession; Keolis has the initial 10-year operations and maintenance contract.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>23.2 km elevated project has 23 stations<\/strong> from Maan to District Court, one stop beyond Shivajinagar, and is designed to link Hinjawadi with central Pune.<\/p>\n<p>PMRDA set <strong>July 15, 2026 as a first-phase target<\/strong> and December 2026 as the full-operation target for Shivajinagar. Both remain targets. Hinjawadi trip plans should retain a road option; Maha Metro fares and service hours cover Purple and Aqua.<\/p>\n<p>A planned skywalk will link District Court and Civil Court. For <strong>airport, Hinjawadi and Kharadi journeys<\/strong>, road connections are the practical choice.<\/p>\n<p>For Shaniwar Wada, <strong>Kasba Peth<\/strong> on the Purple Line is the practical stop. The walking route is about 0.6 km and takes roughly eight minutes; PMC on the Aqua Line is an alternative.<\/p>\n<p>For Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple, <strong>Mahatma Phule Mandai<\/strong> is about 0.8 km away, roughly a 10-minute walk. PMC is an alternative, but its walking route is about 1.3 km and 18 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Pataleshwar Cave Temple is a <strong>short local walk from Shivajinagar<\/strong> on the Purple Line.<\/p>\n<p>Pune Junction connects directly by foot-overbridge to the concourse at <strong>Pune Railway Station<\/strong> on the Aqua Line.
