Phase 1 contributes 40.0 km and Phase 2 adds 28.2 km. Gandhinagar is a separate city and the capital of Gujarat, not an Ahmedabad neighborhood.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the Ahmedabad Metro system runs above ground. It has 61.7 km of elevated infrastructure and 6.5 km underground. The underground section contains Kankaria East, Kalupur Metro Station, Gheekanta and Shahpur; Old High Court is elevated.<\/p>\n<p>The first Vastral Gam to Apparel Park section was inaugurated on <strong>March 4, 2019<\/strong>. It does not provide door-to-door coverage across the metropolitan area.<\/p>\n<p>Janmarg BRTS or another AMTS connection may suit a destination several kilometers from a station.
