corridors total 73.0 km. On the Blue Line you currently travel only between Dakshineswar and Shahid Khudiram, because services on to Kavi Subhash have been suspended since 28 July 2025.<\/li>\n<li>The airport sits on the Yellow Line at Jai Hind Bimanbandar, served on weekdays from about 07:20 until just after 21:00 roughly every twelve minutes. Change at Noapara for the Blue Line into central Kolkata.<\/li>\n<li>You pay by distance, starting at \u20b95.00. The published brackets of 22 May 2024 go up to \u20b925.00 on Blue, \u20b930.00 on Green and Orange, and \u20b920.00 on the open Purple section.<\/li>\n<li>Blue Line trains work to an interval of about five minutes, though that is not an all-day guarantee. Intervals, first trains and last trains differ on the other lines and from day to day.<\/li>\n<li>Green takes you right across the city from Howrah Maidan to Salt Lake Sector V. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2245960\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">March 2026 Ministry corridor table<\/a> records commissioned passenger sections on five colour corridors, with lengths adding up to <strong>73.0 km<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Services are run within Indian Railways by <strong>Metro Railway, Kolkata<\/strong>, which is a zonal railway. Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation Limited, or KMRCL, implemented the Green Line East-West corridor as a Government of India enterprise. It should not be presented as a separate citywide passenger operator.<\/p>\n<p>Howrah connects the Green corridor with the railway complex. Treat it as an interchange point and use the relevant railway information for the onward journey.<\/p>\n<p>The 73.0 km figure is a commissioned-corridor total. It should not be read as a promise that every platform or terminus is available on a particular day. However, commercial services between Shahid Khudiram and Kavi Subhash have been suspended since 28 July 2025, so trains currently run only between Dakshineswar and Shahid Khudiram.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Green Line:<\/strong> The 16.6 km East-West corridor is fully operational from Howrah Maidan to Salt Lake Sector V. Esplanade provides the connection with Blue, while Howrah connects with the railway complex.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Purple Line:<\/strong> Passenger service covers 7.7 km from Joka to Majerhat. The continuation toward Esplanade is construction work and is not part of the open passenger section.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Orange Line:<\/strong> The commissioned 9.8 km section runs from Kavi Subhash, also called New Garia, to Beleghata. Because Blue trains do not currently reach Kavi Subhash, the Blue-to-Orange interchange there is not available at present, even though Orange services still start from Kavi Subhash.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Yellow Line:<\/strong> Passenger service covers 6.8 km from Noapara to Jai Hind Bimanbandar. Noapara is the supported transfer point with Blue, while the route beyond the airport remains unfinished.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]The Kolkata Metro route map is most useful when read with the line status table below. Green is complete as an operating corridor, but Purple, Orange and Yellow all have extensions that belong in construction updates, not in a list of places passengers can already reach.<\/p>\n<p>The status distinction is especially important at Kavi Subhash. Because Blue trains do not currently reach Kavi Subhash, the Blue-to-Orange interchange there is not available at present, even though Orange services still start from Kavi Subhash.
